What an excellent stay we had! Ali’s place was just perfect for a two night getaway with two of my dear friends. The space is decorated well and has all one would need for an enjoyable stay. There’s a small, serene beach only blocks away and the neighborhood was quiet and quaint. Ali was responsive and kind. What a great place!

Beautiful cottage near the sea. Old Saybrook is my old hometown so it was wonderful to drive down from New Hampshire and spend a few nights for my birthday and go to our favorite restaurants. Thank you making The Driftwood available for us and our two dogs. They appreciated the fenced in yard. :)

We had a lovely stay at Ali’s place! Very quiet and calming surroundings. We loved relaxing on the porch with a glass of wine. It was definitely a change of pace coming from NYC! We’d recommend Big Y for groceries as Walgreens near by just had snacks really. We ate at cafe Routier which was lovely - real mix of things on the menu and then had take out at Sammy’s Italian - very good & HUGE portions. The beaches were lovely and quiet although quite narrow and not much shore line - maybe check the tide schedules! The house was perfect for the 3 of us, comfy beds and nice soft bed linen! The house had everything you needed to feel comfortable and everyone was super friendly when passing by! The beaches aren’t dog friendly though but still able to walk around happily. Would love to return maybe without pup and take advantage of the beach amenities (kayaking etc) as looked great! Overall very relaxing trip and would love to return!

We loved Ali and Jim’s adorable little cottage. Beautifully decorated, well-appointed and super clean, with comfortable furnishings and beds. The backyard was private and made for a nice hangout spot one evening. Great location with Fresh Salt restaurant and fantastic little lobster shack just around the corner. We took bike rides around Old SayBrook beaches and downtown, and even ventured out to Old Lyme, Chester (adorable) and Gillette Castle (quirky and interesting!) Ali was great to work with - we were last minute guests and she was very communicative and responsive, and reached out numerous times during our stay to make sure everything was to our liking - which it was! I am going to recommend her place to my family and friends, and hope to be staying there again soon. Thank you, Ali!

Ali’s house was lovely for a short getaway weekend. It was clean, spacious, and located only a few blocks from Middle Beach. She was very responsive to any questions we had, and had some good recommendations of things to do in the area. The one negative of the house is that there is a second separate unit attached to the back. The people residing there were audible inside our unit, which was somewhat annoying at night. I would definitely recommend Ali’s beach house if you are looking for a cute place to stay in coastal Connecticut!

Enjoyed our stay at Ali’s place. Was exactly what i was looking for in an Abnb. Invited my 3 adult kids (all in their 20’s), only 2 were able to come along, and my dog too. We had a nice relaxing stay where everyone had their own room and bathroom, perfect. Went hiking during the day, and used their gas grill for dinner at night. We hung out by the fire pit, played pool, pac man, and enjoyed time with each other. The weather was perfect too. If you are planning on skiing at Stratton Mtn, super close to the resort. Had never been to Stratton Mtn and thought the resort area was really cute and dog friendly. Plenty of restaurants and outdoor seating. Would recommend this airbnb.

This was truly an absolutely lovely experience overall: the hosts were responsive, and the precious cottage was immaculate, roomy, and welcoming! We especially appreciated the well-stocked kitchen and how easily they accommodated our dog. If the community were more vegan and dog-friendly, we would return again and again in a heartbeat!

Felt right at home and very well put together for my family! The kids were off the screen and was genuinely enjoying everything in the house. Adults enjoyed everything about the house especially the privacy of each room either bathrooms. Also, the fact that it’s extremely close to the ski resort beats every other places we all have stayed at combined. Can’t wait to go back again next year and start a tradition for the family.
