The Driftwood Cottage is your next seaside getaway, with two King beds and a full and just steps away from the Saybrook Point Marina nestled between the Long Island Sound and Connecticut River. Whether you are docking for the weekend, attending a wedding, or need a romantic getaway. Enjoy the warmth and history of Historic Old Saybrook with our cozy cottage as home base. We love Connecticut and making ever-lasting memories for our guests!

Welcome to our seaside escape — the perfect place to relax and unwind, best for two couples (we do have 3 bedrooms 2K, 1Q) We are a small boutique cottage (1,000 square feet total)

This home does not skimp on CHARM. From the moment you walk into our thoughtfully decorated cottage, we want you to feel at home.

Inside the home you'll find a thoughtfully decorated main level with full bath and two bedrooms (one with King Bed! ) upstairs is the other king bedroom. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the essentials you'll need to cook dinner.

Step outside with your pup and enjoy the nice front and back yards, equipped with comfortable outdoor seating.

You're staying for while and that outfit can only be worn so many times. Use our in unit washer and dryer to freshen up. (or don't, we don't judge)

Our Cottage is located at the end of a private shared driveway, nobody should be driving by during your stay. We have parking for up to 2 cars.

Close to Saybrook Point. Easy and convenient to all that Saybrook has to offer. The only negative was that the sheets seemed stale or musty. Could be because we came off season. Otherwise nice stay in a beautiful location.

I felt right at home in this cottage. The cottage is more spacious than you can tell by the photos. Great kitchen well stocked with dishes, utensils, glassware etc. The grounds were pretty and well maintained. Phenomenal master bed and bath. Neighbors I met were friendly. Easy walking distance to restaurant and bar and seafood shack. Neighborhood is really close to river and LI Sound. Plenty of nice walks to take. Can’t wait to return!

Great place to stay in Old Saybrook, quick drive to restaurants and the beach. Great backyard to play in for dogs and kids. The cottage itself is quaint with 2 bedrooms downstairs and a loft upstairs. The upstairs space doesn’t have a door. There also is no dishwasher, just something to be aware of! We enjoyed our stay!

We had a wonderful weekend trip with our 5-year-old son and pup. We thoroughly enjoyed it. We visited the Essex train station and sampled the restaurants in town, including the ice-cream shop, to our son's delight! The house and garden were perfect and the neighbours were welcoming and friendly. Hosts were nice and the guidebook provided was great. Everything went smoothly. Would highly recommend!

Ali and Jim were some of the most helpful and informative hosts we have encountered. We were sent a series of messages leading up to our stay that answered any lingering questions one might have. This lead to an easy and carefree vacation.The cottage was thoughtfully designed with a clean and uncluttered esthetic that still felt welcoming and relaxed. The area, despite being densely populated, was quiet and peaceful. Each morning I took our dog on a stroll to the water and watched the mist clear away revealing beautiful blooms and bunnies bouncing about! Our dog felt right at home and greatly appreciated the fenced in yard with ample space to play. Something of note for folks with senior dogs, the stairs to the master bedroom weren't doable for our guy. That is something we had anticipated and wasn't a bother with two beautiful bedrooms downstairs. Ali and Jim's cottage was an all around great home base to explore Old Saybrook and it's surrounding towns!

We loved staying at Allison’s cottage! We were attending a wedding at Saybrook Point Inn and the cottage was a 2 min walk which made it so convenient! The home was decorated in a cozy, beach style with a private, fenced in backyard. Alison was very welcoming to us and our two doodles. It was great to have them with us. I highly recommend this Airbnb!

This truly was the perfect cottage for our girls getaway! The location was fantastic - tucked down a quiet driveway with a great little yard and walking distance to the water and Saybrook Point Resort. The cottage has been nicely renovated with beautiful decor that we found cozy and inviting. The kitchen was fully stocked and we enjoyed cooking meals at the home and sitting around the counter chatting away! There were three of us in our party and we each had our own sleeping area and appreciated the two full bathrooms. The host was responsive to all my questions and provided clear instructions. All in all - a wonderful place to stay and we would definitely go back!

The three of us (2+dog) loved this pristine, beautifully decorated vacation home. It was absolutely perfect, a comfortable home worthy of a spread in "Country Living" magzine. We were there only for a long weekend, and when the weather was not great for one of our days, we were content to "relax at home." The large, completly fenced-in yard was just perfect. Our doodle gives it 5 stars as do we. If we had stayed longer during nice weather, we would have loved to have eaten or just relaxed in such a pretty and private backyard. We were so happy with the location as it was "hidden" away from the road and set back from the houses around it. Along with the fact we could walk to a casual eatery featuring burgers and lobster, the location was another feature that created that perfect vacation feel. I had the pleasure of talking to our host, Ali, who was not only helpful, but also welcoming, warm and friendly. Our entire experience was perfect and definitely worthy of five stars.

Beautiful cottage near the sea. Old Saybrook is my old hometown so it was wonderful to drive down from New Hampshire and spend a few nights for my birthday and go to our favorite restaurants. Thank you making The Driftwood available for us and our two dogs. They appreciated the fenced in yard. :)

We loved Ali and Jim’s adorable little cottage. Beautifully decorated, well-appointed and super clean, with comfortable furnishings and beds. The backyard was private and made for a nice hangout spot one evening. Great location with Fresh Salt restaurant and fantastic little lobster shack just around the corner. We took bike rides around Old SayBrook beaches and downtown, and even ventured out to Old Lyme, Chester (adorable) and Gillette Castle (quirky and interesting!) Ali was great to work with - we were last minute guests and she was very communicative and responsive, and reached out numerous times during our stay to make sure everything was to our liking - which it was! I am going to recommend her place to my family and friends, and hope to be staying there again soon. Thank you, Ali!

Ali’s cottage was very comfortable and in such a great neighborhood. I enjoyed my stay. The yard and gardens could use some TLC as there are mostly weeds and generally not very appealing. The outdoor table could use some cleaning. The downstairs TV remote did not work with the TV and I communicated this and Ali was not able to resolve it so I went without it for my 2 night stay. The maids should do a better job of leaving a starter supply of dish towels, clean sponge, etc for each new rental. Other than these things I thought the cottage was very nice and decorated well.

The place is beautiful and a great location but it's small. The photos show 2 bedrooms on the first floor with beds in them but this is inaccurate. One "bedroom" is just a futon in the laundry room.

We had a great weekend at this cottage. It's cute, updated, and clean, and in a great spot to get to nearby parks, coffee shops, and restaurants. The perfect home base in Old Saybrook! Our group brought two dogs, and they were both very comfortable in the house and secure in the back yard, which does have high fences.

Lovely cottage in a great location right around the corner from Saybrook Point. The cottage is charming and perfectly appointed with a country kitchen and exceptional bathrooms. The master is upstairs and has a large, comfortable king bed, beautiful bath and even a work space. We didn’t use the downstairs bedroom or office as it was just my wife and I. The master was perfect for us but if you are traveling with kids, be aware the master does not have a door and this lacks privacy but this was a non issue for my wife and I. The cottage is steps from the water and has a cute backyard. Hosts were great. I’d recommend Fresh Salt and The Essex as two amazing restaurants nearby.
